Three people have been charged in connection to the May 3, 2021, murder of a Miami woman who was killed from a hired hit job, police said.
According to People Magazine, Javon Carter, 29, Romiel Robinson, 35, and Jasmine Martinez, 33, were arrested last week for the murder of Transportation Security Administration officer Le’Shonte Jones.
Jones was fatally shot outside of her apartment in Homestead after working a shift at the Miami International Airport. She was killed right in front of her three-year-old daughter, who was also injured.
Miami-Dade authorities confirmed that the shooting happened in broad daylight. The gunman was wearing a black hoodie at the time of the shooting.
“We never stop working to bring justice to the families of those that can no longer be heard,” Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramirez III wrote on Twitter.

Legal documents obtained by WTVJ and the Miami Herald stated that Martinez arranged for the 24-year-old mother’s murder after she agreed to testify against Martinez and two others, the outlets confirmed.
According to the arrest warrant, Martinez paid Carter to carry out the hit job against Jones with a $15,000 federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan.
“Bank statements were obtained which show a series of withdrawals of over $10,000 in cash and/or payments which occurs over the following days leading up to the homicide,” the warrant read.
Martinez and Jones had known each other, investigators said. In 2018, Martinez was arrested and charged with battery for allegedly beating Jones, WTVJ reported.
Police recovered a video on Carter’s phone from the day of the shooting, counting a large sum of cash, bragging, “Just another day at the office.”
Investigators said Robinson — Martinez’s new boyfriend — set up the price for the killing with Carter, per the outlets.
Carter and Robinson remain in jail without bond.
Martinez is awaiting extradition to Miami-Dade after being arrested in St. Lucie County.
