Reality Television star James “Tim” Norman has been sentenced to life in prison for arranging to have his nephew killed for life insurance on March 2. Although the shooting of Andre Montagomery Jr. occurred on March 14 in, 2016, Norman was found guilty, and his sentencing was laid out during the Thursday hearing. The Welcome to Sweetie Pies alum continues to maintain his innocence.

“Tim Norman portrayed one image to the public, but there were more sinister intentions lurking underneath,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Angie Danis explained at the sentencing hearing, according to PEOPLE.

Danis continued, “And the measure of someone’s character is what they do when they think no one is watching. When he thought no one was watching, he planned the execution of his nephew and carried it out.”

Just last week, Norman took to Instagram to profess his innocence ahead of the hearing.

He wrote in the February 23 post, “Thank you all for the prayers. I’m still in disbelief. The feds knew 100% I did not do those insurance policies. But the jury didn’t get to hear that. And not one person got on the stand and said that I told them to hurt my nephew. They destroyed my name and image, so you guys wouldn’t search for the truth.”

Norman captioned the post “#innocent.”

As previously reported by Sis2Sis, the 43-year-old was found guilty on all charges after he was found to have conspired to kill his nephew to collect an insurance payout. His charges include two federal murder-for-hire counts, conspiracy to murder for hire, conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, and murder for hire resulting in death. His nephew was shot outside of a St. Louis apartment complex after Norman fraudulently got an almost half-a-million dollar life insurance policy on him and paid conspirators to locate him and then kill him.
