A shocking update from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office on April 24 reveals that 2-year-old Taylen Mosley died of drowning before being fed to an alligator, allegedly by his father.
The boy’s father, 21-year-old Thomas Mosley, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of the boy’s mother, Pashun Jeffrey, 20, and her son, Click Orlando reported
On March 31, it was initially reported that Taylen died from being eaten alive by an alligator in a nearby lake a few miles from another apartment complex, Lake Maggiore.
The apartment where the toddler and his mother lived miles away from Dell Holmes Park where police was spotted the alligator, CNN reported
Pinellas County medical examiner has determined that the immediate cause of Taylen’s death was drowning and that the alligator was simply feasting on the boy’s lifeless body.
Officers searching for Taylen discovered the hungry alligator “with an object in its mouth” and identified it as the boy’s body. St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway said his department fired shots at the reptile, which dropped the body.
On March 29, the day of Thomas’ birthday, which the mother of his child was celebrating, Jeffery’s stabbing death was allegedly overheard by neighbors at the apartment complex who told authorities that they heard a loud commotion near her apartment, but no one called the police.
“A bloody fingerprint on a cleaning bottle which had been intentionally placed under a bed in the crime scene was identified to (Mosley),” the affidavit said. “A bloody shoe print with a ‘Gucci’ emblem was located on the bathroom floor where the victim was found,” the affidavit continued.
Jeffery’s family found her bloody body after doing a wellness check.
Jeffery reportedly died from more than 100 stab wounds from a knife, according to the affidavit, FOX Tampa Bay reported.
Thomas, who was a person of interest in the search for Taylen, was charged 48 hours after he was allegedly accused of killing the mother of her child.
He was admitted to St. Anthony’s Hospital for treatment of lacerations to his hands and arms caused by slipping during a knife attack, where he remained until March 31. He was then booked into jail.
Thomas has pleaded not guilty and is being held at Pinellas County Jail without bail.
