Black entrepreneurs Chid and Georgie Liberty recently sold their 236-acre Hudson Valley farm to a luxury hotel brand in a $13.75 million off-market deal.

According to the New York Post, Chid and Georgie reportedly sold their Rhinebeck, NY, property in a deal that closed on Nov. 4. The 236-acre biodynamic farm was purchased by one of the most luxurious hotel brands, Six Senses, for $13.75 million.

The couple bought the farm with a friend for $8.5 million in 2021 to serve as a family residence. Chid, the co-founder and CEO of the fair-trade apparel company Liberty & Justice and the Made in Africa label, made the gigantic purchase with Georgie, a model, philanthropist and activist. It was reportedly built with traditional Hudson Valley architecture in 1768 and had two bedrooms, eight fireplaces, four-and-a-half baths, and an artist’s studio. The property also sits on hundreds of acres and includes a 7,200-square-foot barn.

“The idea was to make [the property] our main residence and do retreats there with impact organizations,” the Liberian-born CEO said. “We did a bunch of retreats for Equity Alliance and Unreasonable Impact and hosted our own, with yoga, hikes and horses. We loved it.”

The property hadn’t been placed on the market, but incoming calls about it reportedly began pouring in after the now-former owners named a whopping price.

“We said no at least three times, then named a ridiculous price,” Chid noted.

Sources reportedly said Six Senses has exciting new plans for the property, including transforming the land it sits on into a resort.

“No Hudson Valley project has been announced, so Six Senses is unable to comment,” a representative for the luxury hotel brand told the Post.

Since selling their now-former home, Chid and Georgie have relocated to Williamsburg. They currently live their best life traveling the world and working on their business ventures which include launching a Made in Africa swim line collab with Target.
