A Chicago mother encouraged her son to kill someone before her and wanted him to shoot at the victim’s girlfriend. Originally, she was charged, but those charges have been dropped.
An argument escalated into a fight, and the fight turned into one-sided gunfire between a guy and a 14-year-old Chicago kid in defense of his mother.
Carlishia Hood, 35, clashed with Jeremy Brown, 32, on Juneteeth at Maxwell Street Express, 11656 S. Halsted St., a Polish hotdog fast food resturant on the Far South Side, The Chicago Sun-Times.
Hood was tormented by Brown and his girlfriend, who allegedly pushed her boyfriend to pick on the single mother.

According to investigators, as the altercation escalated, Hood called her son and requested him to meet her at the restaurant. Brown allegedly struck Hood in the head, prompting Hood’s son to draw a handgun and shoot Brown in the back.
Brown is said to have fled the restuarant while Hood’s son continued to shoot at him. According to prosecutors, the kid and his mother followed Brown into the parking lot, where she urged her son to continue shooting Brown and killing him.
When the youngster stopped firing, his mother allegedly urged him to shoot Brown’s girlfriend before she tried to take the gun away. According to investigators, the boy pushed back his mother, and the two got into a car and went home together.
Brown was shot twice and died as a consequence of his injuries.
According to investigators, the whole incident was captured on security footage, and Brown’s girlfriend identified Hood and her kid in picture arrays.
On June 21, Hood and her son surrendered to authorities. She was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a kid.
Hood, according to prosecutors, possessed a legitimate firearm owners identification card as well as the right to carry a concealed weapon. She has no criminal history.
Hood’s son was ordered held in jail on Thursday after being charged in Juvenile Court with first-degree murder, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful possession of a handgun, according to a spokeswoman for the state’s attorney’s office.
Judge Barbara Dawkins ordered Hood to be sentenced to jail on $3 million bail. She was scheduled to appear in court again on July 12.
As of June 26, the charges Hood and her son faced got dropped, with the Cook County prosecutors siding with the mother and son duo, CBS Chicago reported.
