Deputy Virginia Attorney Allegedly Resigns After Praising Capitol Rioters

Miles has continued to assert that sanctions against her are partly based on her race and gender.

Virginia’s Deputy Attorney General Monique Miles has reportedly resigned from her position after Facebook posts surfaced showing that she had referred to last year’s January 6 Capitol Hill rioters as “patriots.”

In November, Miles was named to the position on January 3 by Jason S. Miyares, Virginia’s Republican attorney general.

During the riots, The Washington Post reported that it had obtained screenshots of the Facebook posts by Miles, authenticated them with four people who interacted with Miles and shared them with Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares’ office.

The attorney had reportedly posted on Facebook, “News Flash: Patriots have stormed the Capitol. No surprise. The deep state has awoken the sleeping giant. Patriots are not taking this lying down. We are awake, ready, and will fight for our rights by any means necessary.”

Miles later edited the original post to blame the violence at the Capitol on “Antifa dressed as Patriots,” saying Antifa carried out the riot and Black Lives Matter activists disguised as Trump supporters.

Victoria LaCivita, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Jason S. Miyares, said the office had been unaware of the Facebook posts before The Washington Post obtained screenshots and shared them. LaCivita also disclosed that Miles turned in her state government ID and equipment. The office understood “that she resigned at that time.”

“Nevertheless, the Office of Attorney General has parted ways with Ms. Miles for lack of transparency during her initial interviews for the position,” LaCivita said. “We appreciate her service and wish her well in the future. The Attorney General has been very clear — Joe Biden won the election and he has condemned the January 6th attack.”

In a lengthy Twitter rant, Miles has continued to assert that sanctions against her are partly based on her race and gender.

Gov. Northam wore black face, Lt Gov. Fairfax had numerous sexual assault allegations, and AG Herring wore blackface and all three served their entire terms despite folks demanding their resignation. The diff between them and me? (Part I)

They’re democrats and I’m a black female conservative civil rights lawyer who is an independent thinker. 🙂 Good thing I have thick skin and a Creator who protects me and directs my steps. Isaiah 54:17. God is in control. (Part II)

2 white men who had the bad judgment of wearing black face, i.e. physically espousing views about blacks & a black male who faced sexual assault allegations. All democrats kept their jobs. I was terminated for cherry-picked posts on election integrity and freedom of speech. ??
