A woman in Mississippi has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly fatally shooting her husband and recording the incident on Facebook Live.
According to authorities, Kadejah Michelle Brown, 28, was arrested after police found her husband, Jeremy Brown, 28, dead in their apartment in response to a domestic violence call. The incident reportedly unfolded in front of their children and was recorded on Facebook Live, although only audio of the shooting was captured.
During the altercation, Kadejah could be heard yelling, “I’ll kill your ass tonight, b*tch,” before a single gunshot was heard. Following the shooting, Kadejah and another woman were heard screaming and expressing their concern about going to jail.
At the scene, police recovered a 9mm handgun and a shell casing. While the incident is still under investigation, Lowndes County Sheriff Eddie Hawkins confirmed that there was a history of domestic violence between the couple.
This tragic incident is yet another example of the power of social media to capture and share violent incidents in real time. While previous incidents have involved bystanders recording incidents of police violence, this marks a new level of disturbing behavior where someone allegedly records themselves committing a violent crime.
