A Florida woman has opened the state’s first Black-owned selfie museum and showroom.
According to a press release, Carissa Glanton, a celebrated Amazon influencer, recently opened The Selfie Showroom at 9433 Lem Turner Road in Jacksonville, Florida. At 2,400 square feet, the event space reportedly has 20 eye-popping sets for content creators to use and is perfect for parties, date nights, or a fun evening with friends.
Also known as Diamondeyezzz, the Amazon influencer reportedly built each set in The Selfie Showroom from the ground up. Her decade-long experience as a professional photographer enabled her to create a unique environment for patrons, which includes state-of-the-art backgrounds and staging with appropriate lighting for smartphones and high-tech videography. The showroom also has original themes like a night on the town at the local club, a simulated first-class airplane ride, and soaking in suds in a modern tub. Additional themes include engagement ones like The Selfie Showroom’s garden party, complete with an ivy-covered swing, as well as romantic ones with red flowers and abstract ones with a giant giraffe. There’s even a golden throne for creators who want a more luxurious touch for their content.
Carissa announced via TikTok that on October 22, there will be a selfie fest held at the museum and showroom. As such, she’s invited vendors interested in participating to register.
“If You Live In Jacksonville Florida & Sell Products We Would Love To Have You Participate As A Vendor! [heart emojis] #popupshop #selfiemuseum #jacksonvilleflorida,” she said in the video’s caption.
Meanwhile, The Selfie Showroom’s social media team has been encouraging its Instagram followers to swing by and take some flicks.
“New scene alert [heart and handstand emojis]. We need all the pretty girls to report to the selfie showroom [celebration emoji],” they wrote about the Black-owned establishment on Sept. 16. “WALK-INS WELCOME!
