Released audio revealed OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney threatened to kill her Black boyfriend, Christian “Toby” Obumseli, almost a month before fatally stabbing him.
WSVN obtained several audio and video clips and reported that a March 5 clip recorded by Obumseli captured the 26-year-old threatening to kill him.
“I’m actually f**king not having a good day where I actually, literally, f**king want to kill you, but you don’t take me seriously,” Clenney told Obumseli.
In addition to the audio, police bodycam footage showed Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers arresting Clenney for domestic battery in Las Vegas on July 27, 2021.
“We’re going right to jail,” one of the officers told her while placing her in the back of a police van. “You’ll get to see a judge, and they’ll work you through the process.”
Bodycam footage also captured a grateful Obumseli, who was in tears after learning his girlfriend would be arrested. The model allegedly threw a glass bottle at him inside their unkempt hotel room that night. The two started arguing while on vacation before things escalated and became physical.
Police asked him if she ever tried killing him, and he answered, “no.”
Per a News Onyx report, Clenney and Obumseli have had quite an abusive relationship that ended after the OnlyFans model stabbed him to death on April 3. Investigators waited a few months before arresting her in Hawaii on Aug. 11.
Clenney’s defense team claimed “she was in a struggle for her life” and “defended herself” when “he came at her” by stabbing him. However, prosecutors argue that Clenney was the violent person in the situation. Video footage showed Clenney assaulting her boyfriend multiple times while riding on an elevator.
A couple of days before the murder, bodycam footage showed her asking for a restraining order against Obumseli. Miami police said they couldn’t do anything since he had lived in her apartment for a couple of months and had his stuff there. Apartment employees explained to officers that Obumseli allegedly charged at her, but Clenney never mentioned that to the police.
Not only did prosecutors have video and audio that indicated Clenney was a violent person in the relationship, but they also had records of an incident in Texas with her mother and sister. Her father confirmed that the sheriff was called during the argument but maintained she wasn’t “a danger.”
Thursday, Clenney appeared in court in Miami, where prosecutors pleaded with the judge to deny bail, claiming she’s a flight risk after learning she earned $3 million from her OnlyFans career and could leave the country. Judge Laura Shearon Cruz has yet to decide.
In the courtroom, videos and audio clips were played, including Clenney’s 911 call, which caused the defendant to tear up. In the audio, Clenney was heard telling Obumseli that she was sorry. Obumseli’s last words were heard in the same audio clip, where he stated he felt like he was going to die and couldn’t feel his arm.
