Jermain Dupri, an award-winning music producer and songwriter, has been a hip-hop mainstay for several decades now. But now, the longtime vegan is venturing into the food industry with his new line of vegan ice cream products. According to a recent press release, JD’s Vegan Ice Cream is now up for grabs in over 700 Walmart stores across the nation and can also be purchased via their online website.
With multiple flavors to choose from, Dupri’s ice cream brand offers everything from Cookies & Cream and Key Lime Pie to Apple Butter and Welcome To Atlanta, Peach Cobbler, a delicious-sounding homage to the 49-year-old’s hometown and 2002 hit single.

The seasoned Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson collaborator has reportedly been vegan for over 15 years now, telling Inside Edition about his journey in 2020, “I think sometimes when people do this, they’re not addressing their problem, their inner problem. My inner problem was that I was addicted to dairy, I believe. I couldn’t do anything without cheese. I wanted cheese on everything.”
“I feel like if one person changes their life from this challenge, then that’s a start. I’m sure that more people will be there, but I’m just saying all it takes is one person,” Dupri added. “One person like myself that’s really really strict about it, they will transform probably 10, 11 people, and those 10, 11 people they’ll find somebody else and it’ll just go.”

JD’s Vegan Ice Cream is reportedly free of lactose, GMOs and artificial flavors.
