Missing 2-year-old triplets were found safe and sound on December 19, after their mother was killed.
According to ABC 6, Philadelphia police found their mother dead in their home just the night before. The set of triplets, two boys and one girl, were found 35 miles from Philadelphia in Lansdale with a family member.
The overnight search began on Sunday at around 8 PM when police officers were called to the home of Maisah Larkin, 39, after receiving reports of screaming coming from the location. Upon arrival, Larkin was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. Investigators believed the murderer to be Stanley Baptiste, Larkin’s 37-year-old boyfriend, who was seen leaving the scene earlier in the night with her three children.
The victim’s neighbor told ACB 6 that she was planning on leaving Baptiste because he was abusive. She explained, “She was planning on leaving, but she didn’t leave fast enough. I am still in shock. When I heard what happened, I just broke down and cried.”
The following day after Larkin’s murder, Stanley Baptiste was discovered dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his car without the triplets, renewing state police’s efforts to find the missing kids. Thankfully, they were located unharmed and left with a family member.
The triplet’s aunt, Alexis, has started a GoFundMe requesting assistance following the tragedy. She specified that “Donations will go toward transportation to the memorial services and new home, moving expenses, Pull-Ups, food, clothing, gas, childcare, a vehicle, and more that will come along with all the changes that are taking place each day,” She continued to thank everyone for their support following the horrific loss of Maisah Larkin.
“We thank you so much and hope that you’ll keep the entire family and her friends in your prayers during this difficult healing process without Maisah here, Earthside,”
The Philadelphia police department is investigating the murder as having a domestic motive and has assured the triplets are safe and with a relative for the time being.
