As of Tuesday, October 26, two Atlanta, Georgia police officers were indicted in connection with the 2016 death of Jamarion Robinson, who was shot 76 times during a raid on his girlfriend’s East Point apartment.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Eric A. Heinze and Kristopher L. Hutchens were indicted on eight counts, including two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, burglary, and two counts each of alleged false statements and violation of an oath by an officer.
Jamarion’s family spoke up about him and said he had a mental illness. His mother, Monteria, told the outlet that she’s been seeking justice for him ever since her son passed. She mentioned that former Fulton District Attorney Paul Howard had “failed my family” after he promised to indict the officers involved and did not deliver.

Paul said the investigation was hijacked when officers refused to cooperate, and there was no police body camera footage from the incident.
“My son’s body is all the body cam you need,” Monteria said. “I wake up every day with anxiety. I’ve been in fight mode ever since my son was killed. I want closure.”
On July 28, 2016, Jamarion was inside his girlfriend’s apartment when a fugitive task force, including law enforcement and federal authorities, arrived. At the time of the incident, the U.S. Marshals Service spokesman said officials showed up in an attempt to serve Jamarion with warrants on Atlanta police’s behalf and Gwinnett County police.
According to East Point police, Jamarion fired a shot at officers, who then opened fire on him, shooting him 76 times.
Officer Eric is the Assistant Chief Inspector with the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Kristopher is a Clayton County police officer who partnered with the task force.
Jamarion was 26 at the time he died.
