VIDEO: Comedian Josh Black Falsely Accused of Breaking Into Cars At Nashville Apartment Complex

A viral TikTok video shows a woman confronting and accusing a Black man of fitting the description of an individual who was breaking into cars in a Nashville apartment garage.

Comedian Joshua Black was approached by a woman in the complex’s parking garage where the two live.

He recorded the confrontation in a now-viral video on his TikTok with over 16 million views.

When she confronted him, she asked, “Do you live here?”

And then she asked him about the break-ins.

“Hello, I live here. I’ve lived here for five years, and then Karen just came up to me and harassed me with what I do to follow her,” the comedian said to the camera.

Black goes back-and-forth with the woman, who he refers to as “Karen.”

“First off, we have break-ins here in cars,” said the Karen.

The woman claimed her car was burglarized, then insisted that Black fit the description of the individual breaking into other cars at the complex because he was wearing a hoodie and a backpack.

Black responded, telling Karen he had had his car broken into several times and was aware of the situation. He wondered how he could fit the suspect’s description because he knew the suspect’s description from the apartment complex.

According to the apartment complex, the description of the suspect who broke into cars was a “white kid on a bike with a red backpack.”

Black says these types of incidents are common in Tennessee and across the country.

“In her brain, she didn’t need to owe me an explanation, but I had to owe her an explanation,” Black said.

“It happens almost every day to every Black person. This incident happened to be caught on camera. This is no different from a regular Tuesday. Subtle racism happens every day, but you can’t record it all…Unfortunately, this kind of racism is just normal, and we black people become numb,” said Black.
