A shocking 13 University Of Colorado Boulder football players’ scholarships have been revoked following Deion Sanders’s hire.

According to Audacy, Sanders encouraged some players at a press conference to transfer because he was bringing others with him. One includes his son, JSU star player Shedeur, who was previously announced as his starting quarterback.

One of the players whose scholarship was revoked, defensive end Carson Mott, said he was notified earlier in December.

“It was a huge mess. I actually never got contacted by Deion or any of his new staff. I got called. They told me that coach Deion didn’t want to honor my commitment and hung up the phone,” Mott told The Athletic.

Tyrone McDuffie, the offensive lineman for the Colorado Buffaloes, also shared that he felt misled by the school’s athletic director, Rick George.

“[George] called me and my dad, and he [said he] wanted the 2023 class to stay together. He said I was going to have a chance to be a Colorado Buffalo regardless of who he hired. Nobody from the new coaching staff called me. You could say there was a little bit of anger, frustration. This was our future they were messing with,” McDuffie said. He’s reportedly remaining on the team despite being recruited by the head coach Sanders replaced, Karl Donnell.

However, Sanders seems to be unfazed by the comments. Shedeur hasn’t responded to the comments either, as he’s been busy sharing his fame and victory on Instagram.

According to Boardroom, a spokesperson for Jackson State University (JSU) said that under his leadership, as of April 2021, the school generated about $185 million “in advertising value and exposure to the university.”

During his tenure at JSU, it even received a locker room upgrade, opened a new football facility, and several players were able to “snag.”
