A Memphis Teen Found After Reported Missing For Few Days

A teenager in Memphis named Mikayla Rhodes, who went reportedly missing, Thursday was found Monday. No further details about where officials discovered her or her well-being had been given.

Rhodes went missing on Sept. 22. She was dropped off at school that Thursday morning, but when school let out, she didn’t return home. Memphis Police issued a missing child report on Sunday. The reason why they waited a few days later is unknown.

The alert read that the 14-year-old has brown eyes and black hair, is 5 ‘6″ tall, and weighs approximately 110 pounds. She was last seen near the 6600 block of May Springs Road, wearing red shoes, black pants and a black hoodie. Her hair was in two twists. The alert noted that Rhodes had ADHD and depression and didn’t take her medication.

“Victim was dropped off at school and never returned,” the alert read. “Victim is diagnosed with depression and ADHD, but has not taken her meds.”

Above the alert, Memphis Police wrote, “Have you seen this child? Report #2209011860ME.”

Underneath the alert in the comment section, the Memphis Police Department wrote, “***LOCATED***.”

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children report that 114 children are missing in Tennessee. Their website also included a checklist to go by in case a family member or friend goes missing. The first thing on the list is to contact law enforcement and never delay reporting them missing. Hide-and-go-seek is common among children.

Children are known to crawl into tiny spaces most adults can’t get into, so the center advised people to scour the house: under beds, inside car trunks, in closets, crawl spaces, etc. Be prepared to provide police with all information like the date, time, the missing person’s last location, the last people they communicated with or saw, and their physical description.
