The incident happened at Franklin Academy Charter School, located in Broward County, FL.

The TikTok video was posted on Wednesday and showed three Muslim students praying in Arabic. Initially, the three were standing before dropping to their knees to pray.

The teacher barged in, saying, “Hold on, this my office, and y’all doing this magic. I believe in Jesus, so I’m interrupting the floor. Excuse me.”

After a whistle was blown, the teacher stepped over the praying students asking, “Why are they in my office? Who told them to come in here?”

According to NBC 6, parents were outraged and agreed with the school firing the instructor.

“I don’t believe her conduct was correct,” Ileana Rodriguez, a parent, said. “She handled it very poorly. She should have been in a better professional manner.”

Another parent, Annie Cid, said that the school’s decision was right and that teachers “should not impose unto religion and they should not have to judge or do anything in that nature, so I feel like it was the respectable thing that the school did, letting the teacher go.”

Franklin Academy released a brief statement condemning the teacher’s behavior.

“At Franklin, we do not tolerate discriminatory behavior in any form,” the statement read. “While we do not discuss personnel matters, we can share that the teacher in question is no longer a member of the Franklin Academy staff. We look forward to continuing our IB initiatives of creating a better and more peaceful world through intercultural & racial understanding and mutual respect.”
