Baltimore Mother Who Featured Her Children, Da’Neria and Davin Thomas, On Podcast, Arrested For Their Murder

A Baltimore mother has been arrested for allegedly killing her two children.

According to a Facebook post by the Baltimore Police Department (BPD), Jamerria Hall, 28, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and reckless endangerment of children in connection to her son Davin Thomas’s deaths 8, and her daughter Da’Neria Thomas, 6. She reportedly confessed to killing them to investigators before she was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility.

On August 24, officers from BPD were called to an apartment in the Southwest section of the city after a body was discovered. Upon their arrival, police found two decomposing bodies of the boy and the girl. They noted the bodies also had “visible trauma.”

Documents obtained by CBS Baltimore revealed that Hall “drowned and strangled” Da’Neria, and she reportedly stabbed Davin in the chest. Her daughter also had a garment wrapped around her neck, and her son– a plastic bag covering his face and neck.

A maintenance employee went to do a wellness check after someone complained about a bad smell coming from the apartment. He discovered the children’s bodies and called the police.

According to CBS Baltimore, an investigator on the case disclosed that one witness heard the family on August 19, and one of the babies screamed, “Mommy, no!”

Apparently, the children’s screams didn’t raise questions about what was happening in the home.

Hall allegedly told her mother that the Da’Neria and Davin’s father had picked them up, but the grieving dad maintained he had not seen the children.

Ironically, this isn’t Hall’s first run-in with police. CBS Baltimore reported that the suspect was accused of setting her house on fire while with her kids in 2018.

This time last year, Hall recorded

a podcast BMorE Charming on Spotify. On the show, Hall discussed the struggles and joys of motherhood. The episode titled “Growing Up With Time” introduced Da’Neria and Davin to her audience. The show featured the mom talking to her children about life and other topics.

At one point in the podcast episode, Hall told her children, “Y’all been driving me crazy! But I love y’all.”

One of the children responded, “I love you, too.”

Although Hall is being held without bond, Debbie Levy, from the city’s public defender’s office, has requested that the woman has a mental health evaluation.

Our hearts go out to both families affected by this tragedy.
