Black-Owned Athleisure Brand, Actively Black, To Sell Wakanda Forever Merchandise In Collaboration With Marvel Studios

Black-owned athleisure brand, Actively Black, will reportedly sell Wakanda Forever merch in collaboration with Marvel Studios.

According to Hypebeast, Actively Black announced that it would produce a Wakanda Forever--themed clothing collection in collaboration with Marvel Studios.

“The Black Panther franchise has become a worldwide cultural phenomenon and has served as a constant source of inspiration in developing Actively Black,” the brand’s founder, Lanny Smith, said. “We strive to recreate that same feeling of empowerment Black people felt after watching

Black Panther for the first time–so the opportunity to work alongside Marvel to create this collection has been a dream come true.”

The Wakanda Forever merch collection will reportedly include men’s and women’s joggers, hoodies, leggings and shirts. The collection’s color scheme will also reflect that of the costumes in the film: grey, purple, and black.

“We’re excited to bring the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever capsule collection to life with Actively Black,” senior vice president of Marvel Licensing, Paul Gitter, said. “Lanny Smith is a true trailblazer and the impact that he’s made through the creation of Actively Black, and its philanthropic work in the Black community, is hugely admirable. Through Lanny’s innovative vision, this unique lifestyle collection is a reflection of the creativity and authenticity of this partnership.”

Smith’s mission is to celebrate Black style and culture via Actively Black and advocate for social justice, health, and wellness in the community. The brand’s Wakanda Forever collection has already gone up for sale on Nov. 3 on its official website–weeks before A Wakanda Athletics “Classic” collegiate wear selection arrives, which is set to be released on Nov. 12.

The “Performance” collection will additionally be available on Nov. 25 (Black Friday). The collection is inspired by the fresh and modern Wakanda style, which will be created with lots of advanced fabrics and materials.
