Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin recently gave his concerned fans an Instagram update as he recovers from cardiac arrest.

He shared the update on Saturday, January 7.

He made his post just days after he suffered cardiac arrest during a Bills’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2. As News Onyx reported, he collapsed on the field just minutes after tackling Bengals’ wide receiver Tee Higgins. That day, paramedics rushed him to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

However, it seems like he’s been in good spirits since then.

“It’s GameDay & There’s Nothing I Want More Than To Be Running Out That Tunnel With My Brothers… God Using Me In A Different Way Today!” Damar wrote on January 8. “Tell Someone You Love Them Today! [3️] heart hands emojis. #prayfor3 [camera emoji]: @tapekage.”

In a follow-up post, the 24-year-old also posted a photo of himself holding up a heart symbol with his hands alongside his parents.

“GAMETIME @buffalobills LFG!!!!!!” he wrote to his fans.

On January 5, News Onyx reported that he raised over $4.5 million via GoFundMe, created by his charity, The Chasing M’s Foundation. As of recently, he raised over a whopping $8,500,000 with 243.3K donations.

“This fundraiser was initially established to support a toy drive for Damar’s community, sponsored by the Chasing M’s Foundation. However, it has received renewed support in light of Damar’s current battle, and we can’t thank all of you enough. Your generosity and compassion mean the world to us,” The page continued to ensure that all the funds cumulated were given to the family and handled adequately,” the page reads.

Damar also explained that The Chasing M’s Foundation is an “opportunity to contribute to our first initiative and positively impact children who have been hardest hit by the pandemic.”
