Dallas Woman Fatally Shot By Agitated Man She Beat In Basketball Game

An agitated man, identified as Cameron Hogg, fatally shot

Asia Womack after she beat him in a local basketball game in Dallas.

According to FOX 4, Cameron allegedly shot Asia after she beat him in a pickup game at T.G. Terry Park on Oct. 3. Her family said there was trash talk following the game and that the 31-year-old opened fire on her as she walked home. The 21-year-old woman was tragically shot five times, and when police arrived at the scene, she was found lying on a Hamilton Avenue sidewalk.

Asia’s family said Cameron took his brother and children home before returning to the park and gunning Asia down. They revealed that he was allegedly the young woman’s “friend.”

“This was supposed to be a friend of Asia’s. She’s eaten with the man,” Her devastated mother, Andrea Womack, told the news outlet. “She’s fed him, and he turned on her and killed her in a vicious way.”

The Dallas woman was reportedly a whiz in basketball as she played at Madison High School during her high school career. Detectives retrieved footage from a nearby store that could have captured Cameron’s alleged car speeding away from the scene of her death.

“Detectives are still working the case,” Dallas PD’s Kristin Lowman said. “No one is in custody at this time. They’ve been working it since Monday night trying to find justice for Miss Womack.”

Asia’s aunt, Juanita Smith, said her loved ones are “taking it kind of hard because it was senseless” and added, “I just don’t understand why you kill somebody over a basketball game.”

Local Pastor John Delley called her untimely death “senseless.”

“But this is so senseless. You become embarrassed basically because a female beat you in basketball,” Pastor Delley said. “My prayer is that justice be served; That he is found or that he will give up or turn himself in.”

Crime Stoppers is reportedly offering a $5,000 award to anyone with information that could lead to an arrest.

“If you know where he is, where his whereabouts are, please turn him in. Help the family out. We’re hurting,” Andrea pleaded.
