FBI & Police Join Search For Missing New Jersey Teen Jashyah Moore

Jashyah Moore, a 14-year-old girl from East Orange, New Jersey, was reported missing by her mother after disappearing several weeks ago on Oct. 14. According to PIX11, the teen was last publicly

seen in a local deli shop picking up goods for her family and made it back home before heading out again to trace her steps, reportedly after losing an EBT card. Unfortunately, she hasn’t made it back home.

After her family took matters into their own hands, creating missing posters with Jashyah’s identifying information, the FBI and local police have since joined in the search to help locate the New Jersey teen, PIX11 reported.

Her mother, Jamie Moore, spoke with the news outlet about her daughter’s sudden disappearance, saying that after Jashyah visited the deli shop, “She came back and she said, ‘Mommy, I lost the card.’”

After advising her to retrace her steps, the 14-year-old left home again but failed to return within an hour. The concerned mom went looking for her but to no avail.

An employee at the New Jersey deli that Jashyah visited in mid-October reportedly told PIX11 that an unidentified man walked in with her and also paid for the items she bought that day. Claiming that he was wearing a baseball cap and face mask, another employee

added, “He talked with her; he pay and go,”

Jamie also shared that her estranged husband, and Jashyah’s stepfather, was in the center of an ongoing domestic violence case. Jashyah, who had allegedly been assaulted by him in the past, was recently sent a letter requesting her to testify in front of a grand jury, according to PIX11.

Jashyah’s aunt, Yolanda Moore, reportedly told PIX11 about the alleged abuse, “I saw him punch my niece twice in the face. And this guy’s in his 30s. And he’s really tall, and he’s really big.”

According to a Facebook post by East Orange City Hall, Jashyah was last seen wearing a black jacket with black boots and a pair of khaki pants. The New Jersey native reportedly weighs 135 pounds and is 5 feet 5 inches in length.

East Orange Police, the FBI and the New Jersey State Police are working in collaboration to help find Jashyah and bring her safely home,” the post stated. “If you see her or know of her whereabouts, please call the EOPD Tips Hotline at 973.266.5041.”

Per their investigation, local police have obtained Jashyah’s video games and personal documents, hoping to find any additional information about her whereabouts.
