Florida Man Kills A Young Mother & Daughter And Later Returns To Scene Of Crime To Open Fire On Reporters

A Florida man, Keith Moses, has been arrested for allegedly killing a nine-year-old girl and her 38-year-old mother, and injuring several others, after open firing on a Pine Hills home on Wednesday, February 22. Moses caused more injuries to news reporters after initially killing the mother and daughter when he returned to the scene of the crime hours later while news reporters were on site covering the shooting.

According to Fox35 Orlando, law enforcement hasn’t identified the motive but has specified that he knew Nathacha Augustin, the mother, but that he had no association with any other victims.

Florida Orange County Sheriff John Mina said, “The suspect is not saying much right now. It’s hard to know if he was targeting this news crew. Again, that will all be a part of our investigation. I was out at the scene, and the vehicle doesn’t really look like a news vehicle to me, but then again, there was a photographer there, so that’s possible.”

The other victims were a Spectrum 13 News reporter, Dylan Lyons, and a photojournalist, Jesse Walden. The pair was inside their vehicles when Moses shot them, and Lyons later passed away while getting treatment in the hospital for his injuries.

Moses is being held without bond for his crimes because he has an extensive list of prior offenses – leading investigators to believe that he is a safety concern; he’s to be charged with first-degree murder.

Following the tragedy, reporters offered emotional coverage of the incident that claimed the life of one of their colleagues and a young daughter and her mother.
