GUILTY! Minnesota Jury Holds Disgraced Cop Kim Potter Accountable For Killing Daunte Wright

The 12-person jury in Kim Potter’s manslaughter case found the disgraced former cop guilty on Thursday.

According to Insider, the jury convicted Potter of first-degree and second-degree manslaughter after she shot 20-year-old Daunte Wright in Minnesota during a bogus traffic stop in April. The group had been deliberating since Monday.

The 49-year-old woman stood stoically as the magistrate read the unanimous decision.

After the verdict was delivered, Judge Regina Chu had court police take Potter into immediate custody. Although Potter’s attorney tried to advocate for his client to be released on bail because she wouldn’t flee and that she was “Catholic,” Chu expressed that she could not give the woman preferential treatment.

“It is the Christmas holiday season,” Paul Engh said. “She’s a devoted Catholic, no less, and there is no point to incarcerate her at this point in time.”

Daunte’s mother, Katie Bryant, weighed in on the guilty verdict during a press conference, saying, “Now we’ve been able to process it.”

Bryant also expressed that she has felt every emotion humanly possible since the death of her beloved son.

During the last day of the trial before the jury adjourned to deliberate the verdict, Potter “broke down” on the stand as she recounted the events that led up to her fatally shooting Daunte.

“I remember yelling, ‘Taser, Taser, Taser,’ and nothing happened, and then he told me I shot him,” she said.

Sentencing is set to take place on February 18. Potter faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.
