A Black Georgia State University professor is being slammed for allegedly calling the police on Black students who arrived late to her class.
According to WKRC, Carissa Gray of Perimeter College at GSU called the police on two students who were a few minutes late to an English class.
Gray is allegedly no longer teaching in-person classes after a student, Bria Blake, posted a viral TikTok video of the entire ordeal. The video now has over 164,000 likes.

According to the video, when the professor asked the two students, Kamryn and Taylor, to leave, Taylor told their professor that they “paid to be here.”
Gray then left the room and reentered with two armed police officers who tried to take their things and forceable remove them from the room.
The officers insisted that they would be charged with trespassing if the two students did not leave.
According to Blake, the two students even started crying because they were terrified about what could happen to them.
“Time and time again, we’ve seen the police being weaponized against black people,” Blake said. “Calling the police on two students for being two minutes late to class is extremely unreasonable and dangerous.”
“Stuff like this cannot keep happening to black youth in America. Stop weaponizing the police against black people,” she continued.

According to a GSU statement obtained by NBC News, the university is investigating the incident.
“We are looking into this matter and how it was handled by the faculty member. Campus police arrived after being called by the faculty member and immediately de-escalated the situation between the students and faculty member. Clearly, no crime had been committed, so there were no arrests.”
