IG Star Helped North Korean Hackers Steal $1.3B to Impress Black Chyna

An evening that started with beautiful scenery, excellent food, and a famous celebrity would end up as evidence for a federal investigation.

A Nigerian Instagram user, Ray Hushpuppi, was arrested for scamming with North Korean computer hackers and stole more than $1.3 billion. Hushpuppi, also know as Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, teamed up with computer hackers to steal the funds from companies and banks in the United States and Malta.

After Hushpuppi was convicted, he was sent back to the United States from Dubai. According to the Justice Department, he was “laundering hundreds of millions of dollars from business email (BEC) frauds and other scams, including schemes targeting a US law firm, a foreign bank, and an English Premier League soccer club.”

Hushpuppi started flaunting his opulent lifestyle on Instagram, including his dinner with television personality Blac Chyna. The spread revealed his fraudulent activities, and it caught the attention of the FBI. The feds questioned Hushpuppi’s sources of income based on his social media posts. He does not have any substantial revenue, and yet, he can fly out on a jet with Blac Chyna and buy luxury cars in cash.
