An Indiana woman is reportedly wanted by police after her five-year-old son, Cairo Ammar Jordan’s body was found inside a suitcase.
A statement released by Indiana police indicated that the department issued an arrest warrant for Dejuane Ludie for charges of murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in death and obstruction of justice. The Oct. 26 statement revealed that she was suspected of being involved in his passing and that she believed demons possessed him.
Authorities also described her as a Black woman with short, dark brown hair who stands 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. It also indicated that she’s known to wear hair extensions or wigs and that her last known location was Los Angeles, California.
Jordan’s body was reportedly found inside a hard-shell suitcase with a “distinctive Las Vegas design on its front and back,” police said in April. Indiana police were called to investigate after a resident, who was mushroom hunting, notified 911 after making the gruesome discovery.
The following month, officials said, an autopsy found that the young boy had died from electrolyte imbalance. The autopsy revealed that the electrolyte imbalance was likely caused by viral gastroenteritis, the Indiana State Police said in a release.
The condition causes stomach and intestine inflammation resulting in vomiting and diarrhea, and can eventually lead to dehydration, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The autopsy report also indicated that there wasn’t an anatomical cause of death and that Jordan’s blood toxicology report was negative, police said.
In October, authorities reportedly arrested another woman, Dawn Elaine Coleman of Louisiana, in connection with his tragic passing. She was arrested in San Francisco, but it’s still unclear what her relationship is to Jordan or Ludie.
Police have been searching for the 37-year-old, as she’s reportedly known to travel and was recently in San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Houston, Texas.
