Milwaukee Father Pleads Guilty To Homicide Charge After Fatally Punching Son, 5, For Eating His Cheesecake

Travis Stackhouse, a Milwaukee father, faces several charges over his son’s June 2019 death. After 5-year-old Sir Amer Stackhouse, along with Stackhouse’s other children, allegedly ate his dad’s cheesecake, the now 30-year-old man struck him in the face and fatally punched him in his stomach. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the child died from blunt force trauma to his abdomen.

During the 2019 incident, Stackhouse was allegedly

angered that kid had eaten a cheesecake that he received for Father’s Day that same week, claiming that he had only eaten one piece of it.

Stackhouse claimed that he struck his son in his face using the back of his hand. He had metal in his hand due to recent surgery, making the impact worse, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. The Milwaukee father then left the child at home to go to a local bar with friends. When he returned at around 2:00 AM, the child’s mother allegedly called 911 due to their young child being unresponsive.

Paramedics arrived at their home and attempted to revive him, but he was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. The young child had allegedly suffered a ruptured stomach, bruised kidneys and a torn adrenal gland.

Fox 6 in Milwaukee reported that the child’s caretakers initially told police that he had fallen down a flight of stairs, but they weren’t convinced due to the boy’s extensive injuries. Eventually, Stackhouse confessed to punching him in the stomach and hitting his face during the Father’s Day cheesecake incident.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, this past week, Stackhouse attended a trial for first-degree reckless homicide. Following witness testimony, he pled guilty on Wednesday, May 5, to several charges, including second-degree reckless homicide, child abuse and child neglect.

Stackhouse will attend a sentencing hearing on June 29, following the second anniversary of his son’s death.
