Mother And Son Brought Smorgasbord On Their Flight And Went Viral

The mother and son who went viral after they brought a seafood smorgasbord onto their flight have been identified.

Suzie Pratt and her adult son, Kmail, caused a social media frenzy after a photo of her sitting with a catering pan full of seafood on her lap broke the internet.

The photo originated from Twitter user @NotSoNewlywedPC with the caption, “Where’s the air marshall?”

Although it was comical, many people wondered how in the world the mother-son duo managed to get the meal through security and onto the airplane.

It turns out that mother and son were within their rights to get their non-airline food eat on, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

“All food must undergo x-ray screening. Foods that are liquids, gels or aerosols must comply with the 3-1-1 liquids rule,” the TSA’s website says.

But, some tweeters were not as amused by the clever maneuver and made suppositions about Suzie Pratt and her son’s manners and class.

The protective mother made it clear that she nor her son lack social etiquette.

“’Ghetto’ was disturbing to me because nothing about me and my son was ghetto,” the lobster lover said.  “We take pride in being classy. And it was more of a classy thing than anything because I wasn’t even in first class, and I turned coach to first class.”

Touché. Seafood, especially lobster, is considered a meal for the upper echelon.

Kmail said he and his mother’s fellow travelers reacted positively to their meal, and a flight attendant initially snapped

the photo.

Seafood is a big part of the duo’s life. The mother and son own a seafood restaurant in Brooklyn and always bring it during their travels. For the most part, they are hopeful that all of the attention will allow them to cook for Wendy Williams, one of their ultimate dreams.
