Nicole Michelle Johnson Arrested After Niece and Nephew’s Remains Discovered In Trunk of Car During Traffic Stop In Baltimore

According to the Baltimore Police Department, Nicole Michelle Johnson faces

multiple charges, including child abuse resulting in death, after police found the bodies of her niece and nephew in her car last Wednesday.

“The entire Baltimore County Police Department grieves with the community over the unspeakable deaths of two innocent children,” Police Chief Melissa Hyatt said.

“The investigation into this atrocious crime will not stop until those responsible are brought to justice.”

CNN reported that officers pulled Johnson over for speeding that night and found she was driving without a  license or insurance. The car also had a fake temporary tag.

Johnson then stated, “It don’t matter, I won’t be here in five days,” and “y’all going to see me on the news, y’all going to see on the news making my big debut,” according to the documents.

After being pulled over, officers asked Johnson to pop open her trunk after they noticed a strong odor coming from the car.

She obliged but attempted to hide a garbage bag which she claimed only had blankets inside.

When asked to remove the blankets, authorities discovered a child’s decomposing body.

In a separate bag was the body of another child.

Upon police discovering the grisly find, Johnson attempted to run away and was caught.

The remains belonged to two siblings, which were reported to be Johnson’s niece and nephew, 7-year-old Joshlyn Johnson and her 5-year-old brother, Larry O’Neil.

Johnson had custody of the children since 2019 after her sister, Dachelle Johnson, the mother of the two children, could not care for them.

Dachelle reportedly arranged to have her sister return the children, but Johnson never met her, and she was since then unable to reach her sister or the children until she was notified of their deaths.
The cause of death for the children has yet to be determined.
