Producer Metro Boomin Pays Off Mortgage For Family Of Aaron Salter Jr., Hero Killed During Buffalo Shooting

Music producer Metro Boomin, born Leland Tyler Wayne, reached out to the family of fallen Buffalo supermarket hero Aaron Salter Jr. to help them after the loss of their husband and father figure by paying the mortgage on the family’s home.

On July 20, the retired cop’s actions inspired Metro to show up and support the Salter family.

The Buffalo hero’s son posted a picture on Instagram to share the good deed. He and his mother, Kimberly, stood in front of their house holding a sign that read, “Paid in Full” in large letters. The post’s caption read, “

How many producers you know look out for people when they need it most?”

“Gotta say thanks to my favorite producer @metroboomin. He called me and asked if he could help me during my tragic loss and did just that! No more mortgage Paid in full!!! Thanks, @metroboomin. I’ll never forget what you did!”

Metro returned the love in the comment section and reassured the family that he was always available to support them. He wrote, “Love always, bro! My line is always open, and I meant every single thing I said back when we spoke.”

NewsOnyx reported that supporters had praised Aaron for his valor. The retired cop was working as a security officer at the Tops Friendly Market when gunman Payton Gendron killed ten people. Police officials who arrived on the scene after the shooting said that Aaron’s actions probably saved other people’s lives in the market. By confronting the gunman and returning fire to defend the people inside, he prevented Payton from harming more people. Aaron, unfortunately, was shot and killed during the incident.

“He’s a true hero, and we don’t know what he prevented,” Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said. “There could have been more victims if not for his actions. He’s been retired for several years. He’s been a beloved member and employee of Tops here, working security, and he went down fighting.”
