‘Shark Tank’s’ Daymond John Offers To Cover Funeral Expenses For Slain Security Guard Aaron Salter Jr.

Shark Tank celebrity Daymond John is offering to help the family of Aaron Salter, Jr., the slain security guard from the Tops Friendly Market massacre, by covering funeral expenses. John’s generosity during this tragic moment stemmed from him discovering Aaron Salter Jr. was a fan of his.

TMZ reported that Daymond had an emotional conversation with Salter Jr.’s son, Aaron Salter III, and informed him about the photos he saw of his father standing next to a cardboard cutout of the Shark Tank

star. Salter III told John that watching Shark Tank was a regular thing the family did in their household.

The shark articulated that his heart went out to the family and asked if he could be of some assistance. When Salter III gave funeral details, Daymond didn’t hesitate to offer to cover all of the funeral expenses, finalizing everything by saying someone from his team would reach out.

Before the mogul offered his assistance, Salter III organized

a GoFundMe in which the number of donations exceeded the family’s $10,000 goal. Monday, they updated their crowdfunding page, thanking everyone for the support.

“Thanks, everyone, for this amazing show of support at this time,” the update read. “My dad was such a kind-hearted overall good guy, and I know he’s looking down smiling right now. He loved Buffalo, and he loved being a police officer, but now he can see how many people had love for him.”

As News Onyx has reported, Salter Jr. was a retired cop and security guard at the Tops Friendly Market. When 18-year-old gunman Payton Gendron entered the store, Salter Jr. didn’t hesitate to subdue the shooter, losing his life.

Former Chief of Staff Bill Kristol tweeted about the irony of how Republicans praise law enforcement during National Police Week but won’t do the same for Salter Jr.
