GOOD NEWS: North Carolina Car Dealership Gifts High School Senior New Whip

A North Carolina-based car dealership gifted a local high school senior student a brand new car.

Scott Clark Auto Group partnered with the Huntersville Police Department to celebrate exceptional people in their community.

Azariya Bennett was this year’s recipient and was gifted a 2018 Toyota Corolla.

According to Blavity, Bennett was selected for her “outstanding resilience and accomplishments” and “high academics.”

Scott Clark Auto Group has also partnered

with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Police Athletic League to recognize people in the community, specifically in their program.

Last year, they recognized one of their youth participants, Mekhi Cooper, by gifting him with a Nissan Rogue for his participation.

Scott Clark Auto Group has given back to its community in many unique ways.

In 2021, the auto group partnered with Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Union County Schools to launch a trade internship program for the region.

The Scott Clark Accelerator for Leadership and Education (SCALE) trade school was designed to expose students to the automotive world and focuses on educating students from all backgrounds on the automotive industry.

“The dealership environment is shifting along with so many other industries in our current environment,” said Chris Cady, General Manager of Scott Clark. “One of the major considerations in recruitment and management development today is to ensure that our workforce is representative of our community at all levels. The creation of our internship program is all about meeting people where they are and prospering together while investing in the next generation.”

They offer internships ranging from auto technicians, marketing experts and graphic designers. They also provide entry-level opportunities for full or part-time work for their interns.

To apply, students may be in high school, high school graduates or pursuing post-secondary education enrolled in an approved automotive class or course and receive instructor permission.
