Tennessee Titans Alvin Dupree, Friends Caught On Video Assaulting Walgreens Employee

Tennessee Titans defensive end Alvin “The Bud” Dupree, 28, was charged with assault after he was caught on video attacking an employee at a local Walgreens in Nashville on Jan. 2.

According to Fox News, the Metro Nashville Police Department said the incident occurred around 8 p.m. Sunday, just hours after the Titans walked away with a 34-3 win against the Miami Dolphins.

Dupree was captured on security footage having a verbal dispute with a 20-year-old male employee after recording the 28-year-old on his cell phone. The NFL player reportedly left the store, then came back with several of his friends, the New York Post reported

.

According to reports, Dupree initiated the physical encounter with the employee as he grabbed the cashier and his cell phone.

Dupree told one of his friends to “grab the phone” in the video.”

Another video, obtained by TMZ, showed Dupree entering the Walgreens and approaching the cashier. He then reportedly wrestled with the employee for several seconds.

The cashier tried to defend himself when other store employees got involved in the altercation.

Dupree and his male and female friends started assaulting the Walgreens cashiers as the brawl continued.

The clip showed the defensive end as he pulled one woman out of the scuffle and headed toward the exit. He then turned back to grab a male friend who had just jumped back into the fight.

Walgreens staff called 911, but Dupree and his friends had fled the scene before the police arrived.

“Due to the victim being assaulted, the defendant is being charged with assault-fear of bodily injury,” Nashville police said

in a statement.

Police said Dupree and his attorney met with detectives on Tuesday morning. He is due to report for booking on the citation in three weeks.

Dupree signed a five-year, $82.5 million contract and $32 million guaranteed with the Titans last offseason. He previously played six years for the Steelers, Fox News reported.
