Texas 19-Year-Old Shot While Selling PlayStation 5

On November 28, a 19-year-old was shot in Harris County, Texas, attempting to sell a Playstation 5 (PS5).

According to KHOU 11, investigators said that the teen posted a listing for the PS5 on the internet and attempted to sell it at a friend’s house in the 8300 block of Gros Ventre Lane, near West Road and 290, on the night of the incident.

That afternoon, footage revealed when the victim met up with the suspect, and the two men went inside the house so that the buyer could ensure that the gaming system was functioning correctly. A few moments later, the suspect tried to steal the PS5 and threatened the victim before shooting him on the left side.

After he was shot, the victim was able to run inside and get help while the police recovered his PS5 at the scene. Soon after, he was rushed to a local area hospital and is currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Paul Bruce told the outlet that the department is still looking into the shooting.

“Our Violent Crimes Unit is out here investigating this robbery,” Bruce said. “The victim listed a PS5 on the internet, and the suspect, male, came over here to try to buy the PS5 and pulled a gun and robbed the victim.”

HCSO said that despite there being five other people reportedly in the home who had just gotten back home from a football game at the time of the incident, they do not have a description of the suspect but that they have his social media account and will attempt to track him down that way.

Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
