Texas Woman Arrested For Abandoning Her Children For 2 Months

A Texas mother has been arrested in Mobile, Alabama, after leaving her two young children at home alone for over two months. According to reports from the Roman Forest Police Department, Raven Yates was taken into custody on March 8 for deserting her three-year-old son and her 12-year-old daughter on September 8. The children’s father tipped off police on November 14 that the two kids were alone in the Texas home, not going to school and “much of the time without access to food or medical supplies.”

The RFPD reported that the incident was discovered when Yates was seen in Mobile without the children, and the father realized “they were home alone because he had been asked by his daughter to send food regularly.” He flew to Texas immediately after finding out.

A warrant for Yates’ arrest was issued at the end of last year to charge her with two counts of child endangerment and abandoning a child without intent to return. Yates was finally found and arrested with the help of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force by the RFPD because of her continuous posting on social media, which allowed her to be located and prepared to be extradited back to Texas.

Yates’ ironic social media presence has been under scrutiny since she was arrested.

Yates’ Facebook profile tagline calls her a self-proclaimed “International Mommy CEO | Recording Artist | Model | Actress.” Furthermore, her most recent Instagram post, uploaded the same day that she was arrested, shows her posing in a short video captioned with the text “How deep is your ❤️ 💋I love you 😍 much,”

Thankfully, the two children are safe with family members after their ordeal.
