UPDATE: Brooklyn Woman Arrested In Florida For Murder Of Brooklyn Mother Delia Johnson

The woman allegedly responsible for the August execution-style murder of a Brooklyn mother caught on video has been arrested.

Claudia Williams, 42, was taken into custody in Jacksonville, Florida, on Monday morning. Williams is set to be extradited back to NYC to face murder charges. The Daily Mail UK reported that Williams had been on the lam for three months. Details regarding the suspect’s arrest aren’t available at this time, but New York Police Commissioner Dermot Shea posted a message to Twitter regarding Williams’ capture.

You can run, but the long arm of the law will find you. The woman responsible for the August 4th murder of a #Brooklyn woman has been apprehended by our partners in Jacksonville, Florida,” Shea wrote.

On August 4, Williams allegedly walked up to her friend and shot her at point-blank range as Johnson chilled with friends in Prospect Heights. She fled in the double-parked white SUV she exited from prior to shooting Johnson.  Witnesses on the scene ran in horror as the woman died on the scene.

Johnson’s mother, Delia Berry, and other family members quickly identified Williams as the shooter, but police investigated the crime.

At the time of the shooting, Berry had questions for her daughter’s alleged killer.

“Why did you slaughter her like that? I just want to know why.”

“What could she have done to you that you couldn’t come and knock on my door and tell me? I would have straightened it out for both of you all.”

According to Black Enterprise, the two women had attended the funeral of a friend before Johnson’s death. Police and the victim’s family believed that Williams lured Johnson to where she reportedly killed her.

As more details develop, we will keep you posted.
