UPDATE: Cardi B Calls Out Chair-Throwing DeSoto Students

On March 10, Cardi B called out the middle school students from DeSoto ISD, who were seen throwing chairs at a substitute teacher on a viral video.

Cardi, the mother of 3-year-old daughter Kulture and a 6-month-old son, saw the video online and shared her perspective on Twitter.

“Disgusting this generation is really lost … I went to school wit a lot of gangstas and no matter what they never put their hands on a teacher …Kids this is not respected, not cool, not funny, not tough, not gangsta … .it’s giving y’all p*ssy.”

The altercation occurred last week at DeSoto West Middle School in Texas. Video footage went viral on Facebook. The recording detailed the battle between several students and a substitute teacher, later identified as Mr. Larry Brumfield, as they threw desk chairs at each other.

One of the viral photos circulating shows blood streaming down the substitute teacher’s face from where the chair hit him.

An apology has been shared by one of the alleged students of the incident, Torrin (Tman).

Torrin shared an Instagram post apology with photos of Cardi B’s tweet and a screenshot of an article.

In the caption, he wrote, “I Torrin wouldn’t throw a chair at anybody for no reason! I’m the student that is floating around the internet. I knew much better not to do it. Please understand me carefully. I’ve suffered from bipolar disorder and ADHD.. at the moment of the situation. I tried walking away. I got alerted by students or, as I say my peers, that the sub stated something rudely about my mother. I then displayed the action only because of built-up anger.”

He added, “I accept every consequence that comes my way! I apologize to the public. You had to see that. I apologize to the students who had to witness that. I apologize to my district, who has to see this surface. Most of all, I apologize to Mr. Larry Brumfield. I did that!”
