UPDATE: Rapper C Blu, 16, Arrested After Allegedly Shooting Bronx Cop And Himself During Struggle

Sixteen-year-old rapper C Blu was arrested and accused of shooting a police officer in Bronx, New York, after he was accidentally shot in his leg on Jan. 18.

Blu, whose born name is Camrin Williams, was allegedly part of a “disorderly crowd” outside of a building on Lorillard Place.

Williams reportedly had a gun in his pocket when Officer Kaseem Pennant tried to confiscate it. Williams allegedly refused to remove his hands from his pockets or give up his weapon, and he struggled

with Pennant before the gun went off.

Blu was shot in the leg, and Pennant, 27, was also grazed in the leg by the gunshot.

According to Assistant District Attorney Joseph Maniscalco, Williams was already on probation for another gun possession when he was arraigned at the Bronx Supreme Court.

“This defendant has taken to social media and appeared multiple times displaying a firearm that looks similar to the firearm he possessed in the incident.”

Blu was arraigned on the first gun possession charge as a juvenile one month ago.

C Blu was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree assault and several other weapons charges, to which he pled not guilty. The musician may also be facing attempted murder charges for the shooting.

Attorney Dawn Florio was representing Williams and said the police were piling on Williams for no reason other than a cop was shot, despite her client never having pulled the trigger.

“My client never touched the gun,” said Florio. “You could hear the people saying that they thought the police officer shot my client.

Williams’ bail was set at $200,000, which upset prosecutors and the police. NYPD PBA President Patrick Lynch released a statement targeting Judge Denis Boyle for allowing Williams to have bail.

“There is absolutely no justification and no excuse for setting bail in this case,” wrote Boyle. “This individual was previously arrested for carrying an illegal gun. Then he violated his probation, carried another gun and shot a cop.”

Blu has a contract with Interscope Records and is in the 11th grade.
