VIDEO: Texas Middle Schoolers Attacked Their Teacher And Coach, Breaking His Arm

Texas physics teacher and assistant baseball coach, Michael Shott, has a broken arm after being attacked by middle school students on Thursday, Feb. 10.

According to video footage, Shott was chased and assaulted by Aragon Middle School students at Langham Creek High School. In the footage, he ran away from several young men as they charged toward him. Eventually, one pinned him to the ground, but he escaped the student’s grip.

“He’s doing fine. He’s at home. He has a broken arm, but the kids said that he’s doing what he’s always done, and he’s fine,” his mother, Peggy Shott, told

KTRK. “The reason it happened to him was because he was doing his job. He stopped the kids. Well, there was only one kid at first. The reason the others came back is because they didn’t like him stopping them.”

Shott was reportedly attacked because he told the students that they couldn’t ride dirt bikes on the Houston high school’s campus.

A sophomore at the school claimed that the group of teens was arrested the day of the incident.

“Later that day, they got arrested, and their older friends threatened to shoot up our school,” said Alena Gonzales.

The following day, Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District released a statement confirming that Langham Creek High School received violent threats. They also said that security on campus would work hard to ensure everyone’s safety from potential harm.

“The recent safety violations that have occurred both on and off our campuses are extremely disappointing. I want to reassure you that we are taking these actions very seriously,” said Superintendent Mark Henry. “Our campuses must be the safest places in our community for students, staff and visitors. We will not tolerate anyone compromising the safe environment of our campuses and will address violations to the greatest extent possible. We continue to encourage students, staff and community members to inform administrators, campus police officers or police dispatchers if they see or hear suspicious or illegal activity.”

Another student from the school told KTRK that an announcement was made to prevent students from walking out of the Texas school’s classes without permission slips for safety reasons.

“They had to make an announcement because people kept going out of classes themselves. They had to make an announcement that teachers were not allowed to let students out of class without a slip to go home,” said Logan Wisniewski.

Four junior high school students have been in police custody since the video of them assaulting the teacher has circulated via social media. CFISD officials reportedly sent letters to parents, saying that the teens would be disciplined according to the code of conduct.
