Viral ‘Corn Kid’ Gains Thanksgiving Partnership With Green Giant, ‘What Is Thanksgiving Without Corn?’

Popular American food company Green Giant has announced that they’ve teamed up with viral “Corn Kid” Tariq for a Thanksgiving partnership.

Green Giant announced the fitting partnership via an official press release on Nov. 16. Together, they will reportedly elevate corn from a “simple side dish” to the Thanksgiving table favorite.

“What is Thanksgiving without corn?” Tariq said in the press release. “Thanksgiving is practically a holiday about corn. I mean, every day could be a holiday if you get to eat corn at some point – but this is the one day that we get to stay home with family, watch a big parade, and then eat corn. Lots and lots of corn. It’s my favorite day of the year!”

The partnership will reportedly last for one week, with “Corn Kid” creating corn-filled Green Giant dishes and donating canned vegetables to the local food bank and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. To assist with holiday meal prep, Tariq and Green Giant have also created a limited-edition apron featuring a corn print and an inspiring audible message of “Corn Kid,” wishing everyone a happy turkey day.

The hilarious kid went viral on social media after being interviewed for YouTube channel Recess Therapy in September. In the YT video, he was seen chomping down on some corn while lecturing comedian Julian Shapiro-Barnum and viewers about his favorite vegetable.

“We are very excited to partner with Corn Kid this Thanksgiving as his enthusiasm for corn rivals that of the Green Giant himself,” Kristen Thompson, Senior Vice President & President of Frozen & Vegetables, B&G Foods, said. “‘Corn Kid’ has a giant heart, and we are thrilled to help him share his love of corn with his community this Thanksgiving with an enormous donation of our canned veggies.”

As part of the collaboration, “Corn Kid” and Green Giant released two new recipes: Corniest Mac ‘n’ Cheese and Corn Kid’s Corn Casserole. The viral sensation is set to make a special guest appearance on the Green Giant Harvest in the Valley float at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The annual parade took place in Midtown Manhattan, NYC, on Nov. 24.
