Virginia Army Officials Conduct Review After Woman Harasses Black Soldiers At IHOP

Captured in a now-viral TikTok video earlier this week, a white woman walked up to a table where four Black soldiers enjoyed their meal and went off for no apparent reason. Getting in their faces and calling them “a bunch of sh*tbags,” the woman’s harassing video has gained nearly 11 million views on TikTok.

Army officials at Fort Belvoir, the Virginia base where the men work, are currently conducting an “internal review” of the captured events, The Hill reports.

In the TikTok video uploaded by Joé Jeffers Jr., one of the Black soldiers at IHOP, the woman walks over to their table and incoherently states, “Just so you know I came back in to give her the rest of the cash from my wallet because you guys are a bunch of sh*tbags.” Jeffers captioned the clip, “I’m a US Army Soldier & i had my first encounter with a racist woman,”

After asking the woman to leave them alone, she proceeded to sit beside Jeffers and continue her tirade. “We’re leaving. Can you please leave? I’m trying to get out,” Jeffers pleads with the unnamed woman. Another patron is seen walking over to the table and bluntly tells her, “You need to find another place to be.”

The belligerent Becky then picked up one of the Black soldier’s camouflage hats and began toying with it before taking a child’s menu and folding it. The fellow patron asked for cops to be called and the four men exited the booth with her still sitting down. As she finally leaves, she yelled out to the guests in the restaurant, “Are you the thin blue line? Are you BLM? Are you ANTIFA?”

Joe Richard, public affairs director for Fort Belvoir, told The Hill that the army base will be conducting an internal review,

sayingWe are committed to fostering an environment of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in our force. A view of the video will show the Soldiers maintained their composure and military bearing throughout this shocking incident.” IHOP also released a statement, saying they in no way condone bigotry or harassment.

No word on whether the woman will face criminal harassment for the blowup.
