Wendy’s Shooting Victim Identified By Police In Miami

A fight at a Florida fast-food restaurant led to murder on Saturday. A 28-year-old man that police have now identified as Johnny Collins II was shot and killed after he got into an altercation with another customer at Wendy’s, the Miami Herald reported.

Although there are no details about what started the altercation, two men, Collins and a suspect, that has not yet been identified, brawled at the Wendy’s across the street from Miami Dade College’s North campus.

In the midst of the fight, a 20-year-old employee was punched in the face when he tried to break up the battle between Collins and the other man.

Miami-Dade police told the newspaper that one of the men pulled out a gun and fired at the victim at some point. Collins died at the scene.

According to police, the victim punched the employee shortly before he was shot and killed. The employee was treated and released at the scene. The restaurant remained closed through Sunday.

The shooting is at least the second shooting at a Florida fast-food restaurant over the past several weeks. It is one of several acts of violence at fast-food restaurants across the nation since the beginning of the year.

Police are still looking for the suspect but have not released a description of him. The incident happened at about 6:20 p.m., and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crime to contact them.
