White Female Guard Suspected Of Helping Three Black Teens Escape Louisiana Detention Center

Female guard, Victoria Tune, has been suspected of helping three Black teens escape a detention center in Louisiana.

The Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office uploaded a Facebook post saying surveillance video captured Tune driving the three teenage boys from the Ware Youth Center in Coushatta to an initially unknown location.

“Video surveillance shows the guard, identified as Victoria Tune (W/F, age 21 of Red River Parish), transporting the three juveniles off the premises in a white 2010 Pontiac G6, Louisiana license plate number VWY295,” The Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office social media team wrote.

“The vehicle has a missing rear bumper, and the direction of travel is unknown.”

WYC previously called local police about the three escapees after the center’s day shift employees discovered that the teens broke free four hours earlier. The facilities staff also noted that a security guard there helped them escape.

The escapees are 15-year-old Na’Varaya Lane, who was charged with attempted second-degree murder, 17-year-old Jeremiah Durham, charged with armed robbery; and 17-year-old TyJuan Lafitte, charged with first-degree attempted murder.

A warrant was issued for Tune’s arrest in connection to the three boy’s escape, and on May 14, authorities captured all four of them. They were reportedly found in a Houston, Texas, motel and brought into custody by Houston Police after investigators located their car in the motel’s parking lot. The investigators allegedly monitored the unoccupied vehicle for several hours before the suspects returned to it. They then surrounded and arrested Tune, Lane, Durham, and Lafitte.

“The unoccupied getaway car driven by Victoria Tune was located in the parking lot of a Houston motel where it was kept under surveillance by HPD for several hours,” The Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “All suspects will be extradited back to Louisiana where they will face additional charges referencing the escape.”
