Brandy Attended Buy From A Black Woman Holiday Market To Show Show Support And Shop

H&M and Buy From a Black Woman traveled to New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami for a second year of the “Buy From a Black Woman Holiday Market” events. Singer Brandy and her daughter, Sy’Rai Smith, attended one of the events in Los Angeles.

According to a Dec. 22 press release, the market included

BFABW vendors across the US and started at the end of November. Each day consisted of different vendors, from clothing and bathing products to hair products. All events would run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time.

The purpose of the market and BFABW’s partnership with H&M is to provide the necessary support for the non-profit organization to carry out its mission of “empowering, educating, and inspiring Black Women and the people who support them.”

“Creating experiences like this for Black Women Business Owners is so important because it empowers us to keep reaching for more despite the obstacles Black Women face,” BFABW founder Nikki Porcher said. “We are proud to continue this partnership with H&M and show the world what it really means when we say, ‘when you support a Black Woman Business Owner, you support a whole community.'”

Porcher founded BFABW in 2016 to help connect “over 600 Black Women-owned businesses.”

“Through educational programs, an online directory, and funding, Buy from BLack Woman continues to grow as a trusted resource that helps Black Women in business.”

The H&M and BFABW event’s last day was on Dec. 21. Another celebrity that attended alongside Brandy was How Stella Got Her Groove Back and For Colored Girls actor Richard Lawson.
