Jeffrey Jordan, Son Of Michael Jordan, Arrested For Assaulting Hospital Staff

The son of basketball great Michael Jordan, Jeffrey Jordan, was arrested after being transported to a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona on Sept. 24. According to TMZ Sports, Jordan was having drinks at the Casa Amigos cocktail bar and Mexican restaurant when he slipped and hit the back of his head on a table.

Witnesses said after Jordan fell and hit the back of his head, he began bleeding from the wound. According to the police, Jordan became antagonistic when security guards tried to assist him.

Police responding to another call nearby came to assist security and could see that Jordan needed medical attention. The officers classified the call as “medical in nature.” An ambulance was called, and Jordan was rushed to the hospital.

While at the hospital, the 32-year-old allegedly hit a hospital staff member while being treated for his head wound. Representatives for Jordan said that he was both disoriented and confused. After Jordan was discharged from the hospital, he was arrested, taken to the Scottsdale City Jail, and charged with aggravated assault.

Jordan was released at around 2:14 p.m. the following day. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s office is currently reviewing the case.

Jordan followed in his basketball-star father’s footsteps and played ball at the University of Illinois and Central Florida. He is now a co-founder of Jordan Avakian Group, an investment firm and advisement for innovative companies. He also leads digital innovation at the Jordan Brand.

His famous father played for the Chicago Bulls and is arguably the best basketball player in the world. Michael Jordan was Rookie of the Year in 1984 before he became a five-time NBA Most Valuable Player and a six-time NBA champion. Jordan was also a six-time NBA Finals MVP, a 14-time NBA All-Star and a three-time NBA All-Star MVP. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.
