‘Kanye Was Right’: A Florida Man Screams Antisemitic Remarks During Arrest For Reportedly Attempting To Run Over Bicyclists

Palm Beach County police arrested a Florida man for allegedly attempting a hit-and-run on bicyclists, including a child, with his vehicle. He yelled antisemitic remarks while getting arrested with an officer of the Jewish faith present.

According to a report obtained

by News Onyx, Marcendy Elie, 20, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a count of fleeing an accident scene with bodily injury and criminal mischief for damaging the victim’s $300 bicycle.

The hit-and-run happened on March 14, 2023, around 6:29 p.m. Three bicyclists were in a neighborhood when Elie approached at high speed in a blue Toyota Corolla. One bicyclist was an adult male, and the other was an 11-year-old child, but it’s unclear if the child was related to the adult.

Elie’s car struck the right grip of the handlebar, causing the male victim to fall to the ground. After yelling for him to slow down, Elie reversed the car and hit the victim’s leg with the rear bumper.

“He got a good view of the driver just before he put the vehicle in drive and took off deeper into the neighborhood at a high rate of speed,” an officer said in the report.

The blue Toyota Corolla attempted to “flee through the exit gate,” but the victim managed to approach the vehicle from behind and rip a piece of paper covering the license plate, which surveillance cameras captured the 20-year-old doing while parked in a cul-de-sac of the neighborhood. Elie attempted to hit him again but missed and exited in an unknown direction.

The adult victim suffered a bruise to his left calf, a torn muscle in his left leg and other possible internal injuries.

Police attempted to get a statement from the 11-year-old but couldn’t because the child was too upset and nervous.

Police discovered that the vehicle didn’t belong to Elie. It was in aunt’s name, Ermitha Germain, who lent it to her brother Mikenson Germain, who allowed Elie to borrow it. When police contacted Elie, he told him he did nothing wrong and said the bicyclist hit him. They asked him to return to the scene to get his side of the story, and Elie agreed he would show up.

Two hours later, Elie never arrived.

Police conducted a photo lineup, including a photo of the 20-year-old, and the victim identified Elie as his attacker confidently.

After seizing the vehicle for evidence, officials took Elie into custody, where he screamed, “F**k n***a Jew b***h, Kanye was right, gas the k***s.”

He continued with his screams, adding, “I would rather be arrested by a n***a than a Jew.” One of the officers present at his arrest is of the Jewish faith. The report read that Elie’s religion was satanism.
