In a twist Shonda Rhimes couldn’t have written herself, Jennifer Heinl, one of the January 6 Capitol rioters, has been served with divorce papers. Yahoo News reported that Detective Michael Heinl filed to divorce his wife who was caught using the riot as her very own baecation.
Detective Heinl is an officer in Shaler Township, Pennsylvania, and works with the FBI’s violent crime taskforce in Pittsburgh. The soon-to-be-former Mrs. Heinl’s profession is unknown.
However, she was so astute that despite having a husband who works for the FBI, she forgot that the riot plans she made on Facebook Messenger could be found by the FBI.
And that’s exactly what happened. J. Heinl and Kenneth Grayson, her side dude, discussed their plans to travel to the riot, including hotel and rental car. According to Insider, the FBI found these messages and that left Jennifer cold-busted on the serious tip.

Jennifer claims she and Grayson lost contact before the riot and, according to court documents, she traveled to Washington alone the day before the riots, went home, and returned the next day. According to Heinl, she just so happened to bump into Grayson at the riots and as unrequited lovers do, they posed for a picture together. That picture was how she was identified by the authorities as one of the lawbreakers.
In addition to the questionable claim of her solo hotel stay, Heinl also told the FBI that she never entered the Capitol. Obviously, the FBI believes that as much as I believe that she “fell out of touch” with Kenneth Grayson.
Jennifer was arrested and charged with violent entry on Capitol grounds, disorderly conduct in a restricted building, and other crimes. She was released on a $10,000 bond.
To prevent any empathy for Detective Heinl, he was aware of his wife’s plans to attend the riot and asked her not to go. He seemingly had plans to remain married until he saw the picture of his wife boo’d up with someone who was not him.
Kenneth Grayson was also charged for his part in the riots. Perhaps he and Jennifer can get a spinoff of Love After Lockup.
