Red Wing Shoes has endeavored to bring Super Mario’s iconic brown boots to life in a one-of-a-kind structurally accurate pair of shoes. Unveiled on March 10, the boots bolster to have “every on-screen pixel” recreated by expert shoemakers to be ready to display at the Nintendo flagship in New York. 

Red Wing described their process as “A pixel-for-stitch recreation for the world’s most famous plumber.” The company continued to explain, “It’s here, the official boot of Super Mario Bros. Plumbing. Using legacy methods and innovative materials, Red Wing’s skilled craftspeople have brought some of the magic of the Mushroom Kingdom to real life. Mario’s boots are expertly crafted from Red Wing leather, with a reinforced toe box and a rounded heel.”

The company also revealed that they included a subtle nod to Mario’s abilities in the design of the shoe.

“Most importantly, the heel pad is made with state-of-the-art mushroom-infused materials celebrating Mario’s signature abilities.”

Red Wing included an exclusive video showing how the boots were made using their innovative technology and design processes. 

The hyped-up drop was precluded by Super Mario’s “leap to the big screen” in the upcoming film being released on April 4 this year as a massive promotional tactic. The film’s official Instagram account described some more features of the shoes to satisfy fans of Nintendo’s Mario.
