Viral TikTok Creative Matima “Swavy” Miller Dies After Fatal Delaware Shooting

Matima Miller, better known as Swavy and Babyface.S on TikTok, was killed on Monday morning, July 5, in Wilmington, Delaware. According to Fox 29, the 19-year-old viral internet personality and dancer was

shot at around 10:42 AM and taken to a local hospital for his injuries but was sadly unable to recover.

Police responded to the Wilmington neighborhood of Southbridge on Elmer Place, where Miller was discovered with a gunshot wound, the Delaware News Journal reported.  He is remembered by loved ones and countless online fans, including his over 2.3 followers on TikTok, according to Fox 29.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, the incident is currently being investigated, and anyone with related information is encouraged to contact authorities. 

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the Miller family to help with funeral and burial expenses, with a loved one writing on the $20,000 fundraiser, “On behalf of our family, we would like to say thank you for the continued support and love for Matima Miller also known as Swavy or Babyface. It is with great sadness that we announce Swavy’s passing on 07/05/2021. He was taken away from us due to a senseless act of gun violence.”

“Unfortunately, due to legality, we are not able to provide much information on the events surrounding his passing. However, the family is working diligently to get justice for Swavy,” they

continued. “This is just the beginning. We will forever keep his name alive and continue his legacy! As we deal with this heartbreak, we ask for your support in ensuring our son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend has a legendary homegoing ceremony. We pray that you will continue to support our family through this difficult time.”
